Youth Exchange 2026
The Dutch Kerk in Actie, Danisch Folkekirkens Nødhjælp and Ukraine UEP. They will collaborate under the name C.O.M.E. which stands for Community Openness Mission Exchange.
Meeting each other and sharing faith is incredibly encouraging for all parties.

Project
The project consists of three exchanges and a number of online meetings to stay in touch between in-person meetings. By meeting at varying destinations, the impact is greater. The alternation between traveling and actually being a host country is very educational.
Droom
We want to deepen the faith of youth, share experiences and cultures and build an international Christian community where everyone can grow and actively shape our shared journey.
Why and what
Many churches in Ukraine seek contact with churches in Europe to be encouraged and to be able to tell their story. Conversely, many churches in the Netherlands would like to make a difference for churches in Ukraine, but also to learn and discover what it means to be a church in such an intense context.
Therefore, the Dutch Kerk in Actie, the Danish Folkekirkens Nødhjælp and the Ukrainian UEP have joined forces for a special exchange program intended for Christian youth (18-28 year).
The exchange program is structured as follows:
- Summer 2026 Slovakia Pavlovce nad Uhom
- Spring 2027 the Netherlands / Denmark
- Summer 2027 Ukraine (if possible and safe)
Additional: monthly an online gathering where they reflect and share thoughts and explore how Christianity connects with life’s challenges today.
What it will bring you
Deepen your faith, share experiences and cultures and build an international Christian community where everyone can grow and actively shape our shared journey.
These activities are designed to help you dive into an ecumenical community, get a deeper understanding of the perception of God, yourself and the other.
This experience will be inspiring, fun and life-changing.
Summer 2026: Slovakia
In Pavlovce nad Uhom you will meet pastor Marek and the Roma community. Pastor Marek is an inspiring partner. He grew up in a Roma family himself, so he knows what it is like to belong to this group. “You are ostracized and people act as if you don’t exist. Through the Love of God, I have come out of this misery. I cannot help but share this. Your visit is a tremendous encouragement to me and the Roma in our community."
In Slovakia you will stay in a hotel.
What do we expect from you:
Active participation is key:
- Attendance at offline events is mandatory
- Online sessions are required, you may not miss more than 4 online meetings
- You want to involve and contribute
- You help organize the program and activities for visiting groups
- You will be ready to provide host accommodation for participants
Preparation
With Livingstone, you travel well-prepared. For instance, you receive (mandatory) participant training and the tour leaders receive tour leader training.
To arrange
For this trip you need:
- A valid ID card/passport (Slovakia/ Denmark/ The Netherlands) and passport (valid for at least 3 months after departure from Ukraine)
- You do not need a visa
- Vaccinations: check your home vaccination agency
- Travel insurance including coverage for volunteer work
